Technology 1:
1.
Develop a diagram (map) showing the basic structure of
the web site you plan to develop. Use the Site
Map Design example discussed in class as a guide.
A
hardcopy of the design map is due by
Thursday, September 14th.
Keep
a copy of the map since you will need to upload it to your web site.
- The design
should show the home page
for your site (which you would call index.html.
Why?) and some of the elements that this page might contain.
- Your design
also should show how various other sections of your site, e.g., journal,
portfolio, images, and assignments, are related to the home (index) page.
- Use arrows
to show how the individual pages of your site might be linked. The idea
is to avoid orphan pages
on your site.
- Your design
map will become part of your web site. Therefore, you might want to use
a graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop or PowerPoint to develop the
final version of your design. You can then upload the design as an image
to your web site.
2.
Use Dreamweaver to implement the web design you developed.
- Remember!
This exercise is meant to give you a start on your web site. You can always
(and will probably) modify the design later on as you become more familar
with HTML and the capabilites of Dreamweaver.
- By
the end of the course, you should have a 'Before'
image and an 'After' image of the structure
of your site up loaded on your web site.
